Other than my family, the passion of my life is quilting. An eclectic, I love a wide variety of styles and techniques encompassing both machine and hand work. I am a longarm quilter who can work for you. I enjoy any style, from pantographs to all-over to full custom, ranging from traditional to modern. I love bringing vintage tops to life and am willing to work with a challenging quilt top. Instagram: lyncc_quilts

Welcome to my Link-Up for BOMs Away Mondays!

(We'd love to see the BOM you're working on lately.)

Those of you in the military may understand the frustrations we've faced with this move as far as having to sell a home in the face of uncertainty concerning orders.  :P  It's not fun trying to figure out if the move is going to be changed or not and whether or not it's actually safe to put the house on the market, but we're at that point now where we could finally sign a realtor on. House goes up Wednesday! Here's to a mercifully "short" market period. Madly scrubbing and painting right now. And Happy Memorial Day, by the way, from this Air Force family.  :D

In the meantime, we had to bring our youngest daughter home for the summer, and treated ourselves to a mini-vacation. Stopped for a night and a day in St. Augustine. Stayed in the tower suite of a historical hotel next to Flagler College,

Caught a ghost tour by horse carriage,

Stopped in the oldest drugstore in the United States (alas, they would not let me have some of their Laudanum)

Explored the Castillo de San Marcos,

Gate Guard in first Spanish period uniform

They have some gorgeous cannons there. This one has a 3 1/2 mile range! We caught a couple of the times that they shot them off for the holiday weekend. They actually shoot bread cannonballs out into the harbor.

Names carved into the coquina

. . . And we went over to the St. Augustine Lighthouse. It was a blast. :D

It was super windy up on the deck with tropical storm Beryl getting ready to move into the area. It was very clear to me why children have to be a certain size to be allowed to climb the lighthouse. At the bottom again, waiting for water, I heard the radio on the ground worker's belt saying: "I'm getting winds at 31 mph up here now," and he answered: "OK, we'll watch for children."  I cracked up laughing because as I caught myself looking up for toppled kiddos, another tourist quipped: "So, do we catch them?"

Sure got our exercise on those stairs!

BOM's Away Monday - 21 May 2012

Hi! You all are dusting me on BOM work while this move eats up my life!

Did you get to see the eclipse yesterday? I didn't, but I love these images:

Check out the crescents thrown onto an old friend's back door in Arizona:

(We'd love to see the BOM you're working on lately.)

Load #1 taken cross-country and 5400-something pounds packed into storage. Two girls scooped out of their dorms and safely back at home in Florida for the last few weeks. Got in about 2am. I'm bush-whacked!

Sorry to miss last week's BOM's Away posting - the connections on the road wouldn't let that much through. Hope you were able to sew more than I!
